After the K´bonus 12inch release from Innvision, a track going in a somewhat new direction for the label, they now release a NuFunk smasher with Napz & Mr. Strom! Panayotis Koutsodontis and Joan-Mael Peneau, also known as Maelstrom & Napz, are the two frenchmen who have had a former hit on Jalapeno Records with “spell it” and a further release on Rotax.
“fresh kingz” is the title of the Ep which says it all! Superbly fresh and with funk always in mind. Side A starts with “fresh kingz” and gets all the dance floor junkies perspiring. The side ends with the slick “le frelon vert”.
On the b-side Mr Napz let us know what he is made of and goes it alone. Definitely no loss of “funkness” though! Fat beats, funky guitars and great vibes round off the Ep nicely with the tracks “siren chants” and the “banana club”. For all fans of the “spell it” Ep this is a must have. Boomshanka!!
